Amazing story of believing in God for the impossible. Sometimes when everything seems hopeless the only thing we have left to do is to trust in him. If God can part the Red Sea, he can lead Adam and I on the right path this fall. I'm hoping that that path includes a job at a good district...but maybe he has something else in mind - and I'm going to do my best to trust in him.
I wonder if there's any archaeological evidence of this story?
God most certainly can "part the seas" of our lives to bring us to the places and circumstances that he has set out for us. Bringing me to California most certainly was a "red sea" moment in my life. I didn't really have a "next step" in my career and my life needed healing. A small town, deep sense of community, a strong church and a life companion were all the things I needed and so easily I crossed from difficult place to easy.
ReplyDeleteA thing that stood out for me in the writing of this text that I never quite appreciated from the bible was how God was a cloud by day and fire by night. I had read that in the bible and kind of saw some little bouncing place marker for God that lead the group through the desert. But I didn't realize that the form God took also made the trip easier providing shade and warmth.
It is comforting to know that God provides in the desert. Mana, water, heat, shade. God gave them, and gives us what we need to make it through hard and uncertain times in life.
This is a great story to trust in God. I believe that there is a plan for everyone, but how much of our plan is God's plan, and how much of the plan is made from our own choices?
ReplyDeleteRight now I feel like I am walking through the desert and being provided for. I have a place to live, I have food to eat, but I do not really have enough money to live other than that. What does God have in store for me? At this point I have done many things for my future, but now I have to just trust in God and let things happen.
