Filled full

My take away from this story is that God takes what little we have -- if we offer it -- and expands it to fill whatever need is out there. Somehow, he can make it enough if we pray and trust him.

I wish I had a longer reflection but its profound to think about and very reassuring - especially on days when you feel like the world needs so much more than you can give.

Perturbed by the constant reference to Jesus' "friends" instead of disciples...

This story always brings tithe to mind for me - no matter how much, or how little, you can give; God will find a way to make an impact with it.

5,000 is a pretty crazy number - is it really feasible that 5,000 people at that time believed in Jesus enough to all come together in one spot - in the middle of nowhere no less?!

Matthew 14 Says that Jesus "withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place" and "When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick."

How did a bunch of sick people beat Jesus to his destination on foot vs. boat?! Having a hard time wrapping our heads around this one...
